We’re back! Come help us clean up Bear Claw Poppy on Feb 1st 2025!

Date: January 27, 2025

We here at the Washington County HCP are excited to announce the return of Give Your Land a Hand: a countywide program aimed at cleaning up public lands and encouraging residents to dispose of waste properly. We hope you share our love for the natural beauty of our home, and we’d like to ask for your help in future cleanup projects. If you (and your organization) are willing, we would like you to follow our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067984311183) and promote scheduled cleanups to your employees, residents, volunteers, and everyone else in your circle of influence.

Our next cleanup is scheduled for this Saturday (Feb. 1) at 9 a.m. We’ll meet at the Bearclaw Poppy Trailhead off Navajo Dr. in Bloomington, and congregate near the bathroom building before dispersing to several sites along the roadway to remove trash, dumped home goods, and fire/shooting debris. The future of this area is uncertain since it lost its Reserve status in Dec. 2024. We hope to discourage dumping on federal and state land and encourage the community to help us preserve this amazing area for as long as possible.

If you can join us this Saturday morning, we would greatly appreciate your help. Please spread the word and feel free to share with us any ideas you have for future cleanups as we plan more community projects throughout the year.
